Youth in the Maldives
Wasted Youth
Everybody knows about this social problem we the maldivians are facing today! but nobody talks about it! Specially the government! How many of you think you are wasted? How many of you have a family member wasted? a friend wasted? Im sure the answer will be everybody!

Working and Earning!
The youth! They dont get enough money to start a living on their own at their young age! do they? The starting salary will be probably 2500 which is not enough to rent an apartment, pay the bills, buy food and pay for other miscellaneous expenses! Basically to live a life on their own! So they have to work in one job for about 10 years continuously to get a higher salary than that. And then they can live a life independently on their own. Without their mommy and daddy watching their asses! hopefully one day!The standard of living and the cost of living doesn't meet the basic salary standard here! As a result a part of the youth forget about working, forget about living a life on their own independently! And get wasted!

And what happen when they get wasted?
Ever thought of the youth roaming around male' doing nothing! But just riding their motor cycles or cars with some beautiful lady behind! Going for a coffee with all the friends or for a dinner and pay pricey bills! Ever thought where the money comes from? Some of them smuggle drugs! Some of them deal drugs! Some of them spend their parents money! Some of them just jam with their friends! Some of them just sit in the corners of the roads doing nothing but staring at beautiful ladies passing by! Some of them grow their hair and beard and do the piercings! Most of them smoke hash oil (unfortunately we dont get the weed here! but squeezed oil!) Ofcos few of them do go to work too every now and then!! Basically they become hippies! The country's "flower people"We cant say they are totally uneducated people! Most of them has completed 10th grade somehow! But were probably unable to study any further due to some reason. And they find no use of working here, so they get wasted! Finally some of them end up successfully earning hell a lot of money while others end up in jail locked up! Ever thought about the number of youth locked up in the jail today? Call the home ministry, ask for stats! Im sure its gonna be in "thousands" Damn!
