President Maumoon Abdul Gayoom has appointed prominent businessman Gasim Ibrahim to the post of Minister of Finance and Treasury on Thursday. The letter of appointment was presented to Gasim Ibrahim by President Gayoom in a ceremony held in the President's Office.In addition to that Abdullah Jihad was appointed as Minister of State for Finance and Treasury while Hussain Shihab was appointed as Minister of State for Arts. Shihab was formerly deputy minister of Foreign Affairs.
