Far from being a teenage problem, more than 80 million adults worldwide suffer from acne.
Mary matured early. But reaching puberty at the age of 11 not only made her one of the first girls in her school class to wear a bra, it also triggered the onset of a 20-year battle with acne.
"My face was so oily during my teens that I coated it with powder every night so that I would wake up with reasonably dry skin," Nisha says. "All through my 20s, I tried one treatment after another to get rid of my acne, from Accutane to Retin A. Suffering from adult acne is a depressing experience. You lose your self-esteem and confidence."
